Jeric and I are so happy with the turn of event yesterday! We were able to accomplish everything that we have set out to do. In the morning, after my hearing, we talked to one of the persons we going to ask to be our principal sponsor. Our meeting with her was brief but so funny! Nawindang talaga kami ni Jeric sa hirit nya sa amin pagkatapos nya tanggapin yung invitation namin sa kanya na maging ninang. She even wants to know where our honeymoon will be, at sasabay daw sya ng byahe. haha! Our meeting with her ended around 11:00am so we went to the 2nd person we intended to be our principal sponsor, but at that time, he was still busy attending to something so we decided to just return to his office after our marriage seminar.
After lunch, we applied for license and attended the marriage seminar at the Manila City Hall. My hand hurt filling-up forms... eto kasing si Jeric mas pangit pa ang sulat kesa sa akin, super liit pa, baka pag sya ang mag-fill-up e katakot-takot ang mali sa marriage license namin at madamay pa marriage contract. hehe! After filling out the forms and registering for the seminar on family planning, we went to the seminar room... it was scary going there as it was located at the end of a hallway and we have to climb a creepy stairs to a mezzanine of that room... akala ko nga sa budega kami dadalhin. The seminar was less than an hour long. It started with a film showing on the formation of fetus and birth of babies, then followed by a film on how abortion was done and what are its gruesome effects. There were 7 other couples aside from us in the seminar, but i think we were the noisiest, because Jeric kept on making his funny side comments and of course I cannot help but laugh at his comments. Baka nga iniisip nung nagpapa-seminar at mga kasama amin na di kami seryoso magpakasal. haha! I was only able to watch half of the abortion film because aside from it being so gruesome, I had to use the bathroom. hehe! There was also a small talk from the one conducting the seminar after the film showing, and it was also funny! Like when the woman gave us a ran down of the marital responsibilities... natawa talaga ako kasi pagdating sa "sexual responsibilities" sabi nya di na daw nya ipapaliwanag yun... di na daw nya ipapaliwanag kung anong posisyon... wahahaha! At one point, the woman also told us that some men wants to marry a midwife... "mid" sa umaga, "wife" sa gabi. hahaha! I really didn't expect that I will enjoy the seminar. I expected it to be so boring. After the seminar, we were required to submit our requirements (1. Original/Certified Copy of Birth Certificate of both; 2. Photocopy of ID of both; 3. Payment of Php120.00 application fee). After submitting all our requirements, we took the oath, then that's it! We will get our license on October 1. Yey!
After applying for marriage license, we went back to the office of the person we were going to ask to be our principal sponsor. He was already waiting for us at his office. He was also able to guess our reason for visiting him. He too made us laugh with his reaction and remarks after we told him that we want him to be our ninong. Haha!
So, that's 3 items crossed-out from my september "to-do" list. At the end of day, Jeric and I were so happy! We're even ecstatic! We were able to accomplish everything that we have set out to do on that day, and everything went well! Sana sa kasal namin ganito din! =)
